TIANA BUILDING

This residential building located in Tiana, near Barcelona, has a location close to the sea, visible only by rising slightly from the plane of the street.

The project pursues precisely this objective and is elevated as much as possible by means of a basement floor. The next 4 floors are used for the apartments. The facade facing the street is tilted and rotated to orient the views towards the sea.

The basement occupies a large part of the plot with the garage area and storage rooms, allowing the roof to establish private garden areas for the houses, with an outdoor space at different levels, porch areas and swimming pools marking an extension of the interior space of the houses.

The rest of the floors have 2 apartments each of about 90 m2. We play with the variability of typologies, configuring a duplex with swimming pool, a penthouse with terrace, an apartment with outdoor garden, etc.

The building gives equal importance to all apartments, both those with sea views and those with mountain and outdoor views. All homes have at least 3 orientations, cross ventilation and all spaces have natural light and ventilation.

Most of them consist of 3 bedrooms and an open living-dining-kitchen area, with views to the outside through the large windows that open onto the terrace. Black and white tones are combined in the interior which, together with the furniture and materials, create a modern and pleasant atmosphere for its inhabitants to make it their own.

This play of tones and materials is also extrapolated to the exterior where the facades allow differentiating one floor from the other, as if they were independent. The design fits the “staggered” of the building by integrating it into the design. The terraces protrude from the façade plane to emphasize their importance and give the dwellings a covered area of outdoor space. It is on the main façade where the composition of the façade connects the different floors to each other to give continuity to the façade of the building.
